Fjellfolk

Helga Jacobsen and Trym Bjønnes began their musical partnership in 2005 as Meeq. The initial concept was electronic music mixed with jazz elements. After a folk music seminar at Voss in 2006 however, old Norse poems and Middle Age ballads began to creep into the tapestry. The result is a medley where Norwegian folk music tradition meets programming and jazz, drizzled with impulses from world folk music. In the autumn of 2008, the duo grew to a trio, with the addition of top talent Tor Hoslemo enriching the sound with his fantastic fiddle playing.
