Solveig Slettahjell Slow Motion Orchestra

The Solveig Slettahjell Slow Motion Orchestra last graced Stavanger in October 2009 and charmed a packed Hall Toll. We’ve invited her back to slow motion-hypnotise a MaiJazz festival crowd. Solveig Slettahjell has a legion of fans that extends well beyond pure jazz aficionados and her latest release Tarpan Seasons has been warmly received by both public and press alike. “One quite simply becomes hypnotised by these fantastic melodies,” writes Aftenposten critic Svein Andersen. “Together with her Slow Motion Orchestra she has created music that touches you deep inside. Its inner power, beauty and quiet intensity meet you like an old friend. The six musicians have created an open, almost floating space where Slettahjell can unfurl her voice in all its glory.”

The icing on the cake is the scenic visuals. Lighting designer Ola Bråten has a light and design palette that intensifies the overall Stavangeren concert experience. Succumb to it.
