Datarock
Datarock had just released their first album the last time they played at Checkpoint Charlie and had been given airplay everyone was humming to. Without doubt, the band were on their way to becoming big league. Today, Datarock are Norway’s most internationally active band, racking up 600 concerts across 32 countries. An entire 22 popular video games use Datarock’s songs, which have also been adopted by corporates such as Coca Cola, Apple and Samsung, as well as a number of TV series and films.
Their album RED has received glowing reviews the world over and the single Give It Up was the ninth most played song on NRK P3 radio in 2009. Datarock’s rise appears exponential. It’s therefore extra special to have them drop into town and play MaiJazz. This is the hottest gig at Checkpoint for some time!
