Sidsel Endresen and Håkon Kornstad

Skur 2 plays host to a unique meeting of two Norwegian improvisational giants. Sidsel Endresen has been a distinctive presence on the Norwegian and international music scene for nearly 30 years, possessing an exceptional ability to find new ways of using the voice, while communicating masterful musical moods with great empathy and ingenuity.

She has worked with some of the most preeminent international and Norwegian musicians and is currently collaborating with impelling saxophonist, Håkon Kornstad. Listeners will recognise Kornstad for his membership of Wibutee and alliance with, among others, Håvard Wiik. Recent years have seen him checking out the saxophone’s universe of tonal possibilities and atmospheric melody lines, an approach that has resulted in two solo releases that have enthused critics.
